Bin Laden son-in-law arrested and charged by U.S.

Tel Aviv MarketWatch -- U.S. authorities arrested a son-in-law of Osama bin Laden and flew him to New York to face trial, media reports on Thursday say. Sulaiman abu Ghaith, a former spokesman for al-Qaeda, had been living for some years in Iran, reports say. He had entered Turkey, which deported him to his native Kuwait; he was captured in Jordan while on a stopover, reports say. On Thursday, the U.S. Justice Department unsealed an indictment that charges Abu Ghaith with conspiracy to kill Americans and with other crimes, and he is due in federal court in Manhattan on Friday morning. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole if he is convicted. The case has renewed the debate about whether al-Qaeda members should be tried in civilian or military court.
